Monitors vs Signal Channels
New users confuse these two:
Monitors are rules YOU create. You define keywords, logic, sources. Private to your account. Signal Channels are curated, pre-built feeds we maintain. They combine multiple refined rules + manual curation. Shared across all users who follow them.Use monitors for YOUR specific interests. Use channels for categories where the "right rules" are non-obvious and benefit from professional tuning.

When to Follow vs Build Your Own Monitor
Follow a channel when:- The topic is broad and the "right rules" aren't obvious
- You want curation quality, not just keyword matching
- You'd rather not maintain rules yourself
- You have very specific criteria (e.g., exact ticker list)
- You want control over source tier (speed vs. depth)
- Your rules evolve weekly based on your strategy
Most active users do both — follow 2-3 channels + maintain 3-5 custom monitors.
Channel Quality Metrics
We track per-channel:
- Match precision: % of hits that users mark as relevant
- Coverage: estimated % of matching real-world jobs we catch
- Latency: median time from job posting to alert
Current public channels:
- Freelancer Sourcing: 72% precision, < 90s median latency
- Supply Chain Alerts: 68% precision, < 120s median latency
Channels with < 60% precision get re-tuned. Our goal is sustained > 70%.
Integration with Monitor Delivery
Channel hits follow the same delivery rules as your personal monitors:
- In-app feed (always)
- Island desktop push (if enabled)
- Telegram bot (if connected)
You can per-channel override delivery — e.g., route Freelancer Sourcing to Telegram only, Supply Chain to desktop.

FAQ
Q: Do channel matches count against my monitor quota?A: No. Channel follows are separate from monitor limits. Free accounts get 2 channel follows + 1 custom monitor.
Q: Can I modify a channel's rules?A: Not directly — channel rules are maintained by our team. But you can "Clone" a channel to your own monitors and tune from there (Monitor Plus feature).
Q: How often are channels updated?A: Rules are reviewed weekly. Precision metrics auto-alert us when a channel's quality drops below 60%, triggering re-tuning within 48 hours.
