You're a freelancer using Freelancer Monitor

Monitor Plus ($19.99/mo). Monitor + Telegram routing covers your workflow.

You're an Amazon FBA seller

Finder Plus ($9.99/mo) if you source occasionally. All Access ($39.99/mo) if Claim Pilot + Monitor add significant value.

You're an active trader

Market Intelligence ($19.99/mo) for news analysis. Add Monitor Plus if you want custom rules → All Access effectively.

You're a sourcing consultant

Upgrade Timing

During 7-Day All Access Trial

Every new account gets 7 days of All Access on signup. If you upgrade during trial:

  • Payment processed at upgrade
  • Trial benefit preserves until original 7-day end
  • No double-charging

Mid-Cycle Upgrade

Upgrade anytime from settings → Billing → Change Plan.

Proration calculation:

  • Remaining days of current cycle refunded as credit
  • New plan charged for full month immediately
  • Credit applied to next billing cycle

Example: Day 15 of billing cycle, you upgrade from Free to Monitor Plus ($19.99):

  • Full $19.99 charged today
  • Full monthly benefit for 30 days from today
  • No prorated double-charge

Annual Billing (Not Available)

Currently monthly-only. Annual discount plans planned but not released.

Downgrade / Cancellation

Cancel from Settings

Account → Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription. Takes effect at end of current billing period (no immediate cutoff).

Downgrade to Lower Tier

Account → Subscriptions → Change Plan → select lower tier.

Takes effect at end of current billing period. You keep current-tier benefits until then.

What Happens When You Downgrade to Free

  • Monitor limit drops from 5 to 1 — you must delete 4 (keep your favorite)
  • Source Finder quota returns to 5 lifetime (remaining searches used don't refund)
  • AI news analysis access ends
  • Island / Telegram routing deactivates
  • All previously-saved content stays but access is restricted by plan tier

Cancellation Impact

Once cancelled and billing period ends:

  • Account downgrades to Free automatically
  • 30-day grace period to reactivate with full data preserved
  • After 30 days: full data deletion per privacy policy

Refund Policy

7-Day Money-Back

If you upgrade and request refund within 7 days: full refund.

Process: email [email protected] with subject "Refund request: [your email]". Processed within 5 business days.

Beyond 7 Days

Generally no refunds on monthly subscriptions. Exceptions for billing errors or platform outages (prorated).

Billing Errors

If you believe you've been double-charged or billed incorrectly: contact support immediately. Fixed within 48h typically.

Payment Methods

Accepted

  • Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover)
  • Apple Pay (browser-based)
  • Google Pay (browser-based)
  • Some regional wallets (via Stripe)

Not Accepted

  • Bank wire (for subscriptions; can be arranged for enterprise)
  • Crypto
  • PayPal (not directly; via Stripe Link sometimes)

Stripe-Processed

All payments go through Stripe. Catalayer doesn't store card data.

Billing Cycle

Monthly

First charge on upgrade date. Renews same date of month going forward.

Cycle date mid-month

  • Charged on the 15th → renews on the 15th each month
  • If 15th doesn't exist in month (e.g., Feb 30th): falls to 28th/29th
  • Stable calendar day

Failed Payment

If card declines:

  • Immediate email notification
  • Retry in 3 days
  • Retry in 7 days (final attempt)
  • After final failure: account downgrades to Free, data preserved for 30 days

Update Payment Method

Account → Billing → Update Card. Immediate effect on next cycle.

Tax

Inside US

State sales tax collected where applicable (varies by state).

Outside US

  • EU: VAT collected per local rate
  • UK: 20% VAT
  • Canada: GST/HST per province
  • Other: per local rules

Business (VAT-eligible)

If you have a VAT ID, enter during checkout. Reverse-charge applies where legally permitted.

Enterprise / Team

Current State

Individual subscriptions only. No team/enterprise plans yet.

Workarounds

  • Share a single login (violates TOS technically; don't recommend)
  • Pay for multiple individual subscriptions (current supported approach)
  • Wait for team plans (planned for 2026)

Email [email protected] if you need 5+ users. We're considering early pilot customers.

Privacy of Billing Data

Catalayer stores:

  • Stripe customer ID
  • Subscription tier + status
  • Billing history (timestamps + amounts)

Catalayer does NOT store:

  • Credit card numbers
  • CVV
  • Billing address (Stripe stores)

Common Subscription Questions

Will I be automatically upgraded if I exceed Free limits?

No. Exceeding limits (e.g., trying to create 2nd monitor on Free) shows a paywall but never auto-charges.

Can I get a specific product without All Access?

Yes. Finder Plus ($9.99) for only Source Finder. Monitor Plus ($19.99) for only Monitor. Market Intelligence ($19.99) for only AI analysis.

Do I lose data when downgrading?

No, data is preserved. Access is restricted by tier. If you re-upgrade, everything returns instantly.

Is there a student discount?

Not officially. For educational institutions, contact [email protected].

Can I pause my subscription temporarily?

Not a formal feature yet. Workaround: cancel + re-subscribe when needed.

Q: Can I change from monthly to annual billing?

A: Annual plans not yet available. Planned for Q2 2026. Monthly billing only currently.

Q: What if Catalayer goes out of business?

A: Per terms: 30-day notice minimum. Data export tools provided for migration.
