Fundrise versus REITs and real estate CEFs

I've seen some people recommending Fundrise as a real estate investment. What would you say are the advantages of this over simply buying a REIT or real estate CEF? It seems to me that buying a fund offers more flexibility and you can also find funds that offer higher yields.
